Ziwa is a New Storage and Communication Protocol


Ziwa is a new generation of decentralized storage and communication protocol developed by Ethereum development laboratory based on Ethereum network, ziwa is mainly the DApp code of Ethereum, user basic data, blockchain and status data, as well as untraceable scattered and redundant storage. Communication provides the basic structure. Ethereum developers can complete the task of data decentralized storage directly through ziwa, instead of relying directly on external ecosystems such as IPFS and Filecoin. What functions does Ziwa implement

With Web 2.0 occupying the world, the revolution of peer-to-peer (P2P) is accelerating and developing quietly in parallel. In fact, P2P has taken over a large number of data packets. There is no doubt that all users can finally use the upstream bandwidth that has not been fully utilized so far, This can provide content with the same availability and throughput that can only be achieved with the help of large companies and their data centers. Depending on the widest bandwidth in the Internet backbone network, it can be realized at a small cost. More importantly, users retain more control and freedom over their data. Finally, this data distribution method has proved to be significantly flexible even in the face of violent means to close powerful and well funded entities.

However, even the most advanced P2P file sharing mode, BitTorrent without tracker is only file level sharing. This is simply not the kind of interactive, responsive experience that web applications on Web 2.0 are expected to provide. In addition, although BitTorrent has become very popular, it does not take into account the concepts of economics or game theory.

BitTorrent’s genius lies in its ingenious resource optimization, which solves the old and centralized Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP), the most difficult and deep-rooted problem in the master-slave design. This protocol is the basis of the world wide web. It prevents cheating by using hierarchical segmented hash, but this exquisite and simple method has five corresponding disadvantages,

For example:

*Lack of financial incentives – there is no built-in incentive to sow downloaded content

*Initial delay – typically, downloads start slowly and with some delay

*The particularity seriously limits the use of BitTorrent in interactive applications that need fast response and high bandwidth.

*Lack of fine-grained content addressing – small data blocks can only be shared as part of the larger files they contain.

*No privacy or ambiguity – attackers can easily discover the IP address of the peer hosting the content they want to delete and then use DDoS attacks as attackers.

*No incentive to continue sharing – once a node reaches its goal (i.e. retrieving all required files from peers), it will not be rewarded for its shared work (storage and bandwidth).

However, with the addition of blockchain technology, we will eventually usher in the real Web 3.0: a decentralized and anti censorship device for sharing and collectively creating content while maintaining full control over it. Moreover, using and sharing the powerful functions of computers with low utilization can completely solve the above problems. The purpose of Ziwa project is to build an unlicensed storage and communication infrastructure for the future self sovereign digital society.

Ziwa’s main goal is to provide Ethereum public records with fully decentralized and redundant storage, especially to store and distribute DAPP code and data and blockchain data. From an economic point of view, it allows participants to effectively pool their storage capacity and bandwidth resources to provide these services to all participants in the network, and accept the incentive of Ethereum. Ziwa’s broader goal is to provide infrastructure services for decentralized web application (DAPP) developers, especially: messaging, data flow, point-to-point accounting, variable resource update, storage insurance, regulatory scanning and repair, payment channels and database services.

Ethereum’s vision of the world’s computers constitutes the trust free (i.e. fully trusted) structure of the upcoming data scenario: a global infrastructure supporting data storage, transmission and processing.
